Refund and cancellation policy

What happens if you change your mind: a 3-day trial you can leave at no cost, a 14-day right of withdrawal for consumers in the European Union, a cancellation you can make in two clicks, and the cases where we refund beyond what the law requires.

1. The short version

Four sentences, then the detail:

  • Cancel during the 3-day trial and you are never charged.
  • Consumers in the EU may withdraw within 14 days of paying and get a full refund.
  • Cancel later and Pro runs to the end of the year you paid for; the next renewal does not happen.
  • If we broke something — a duplicate charge, a feature that disappeared, an outage you paid for — we refund it, inside or outside any deadline.

2. The 3-day free trial

Every Pro subscription starts with a 3-day free trial. We take a payment method when the trial starts, so that access continues without interruption if you stay, but nothing is charged during those three days.

Cancel at any point before the trial ends and you pay nothing at all. The app keeps working on its free plan, and we delete the payment method unless you ask us to keep it.

We email you the day before the trial ends with the amount, the date and a direct cancellation link. One trial per app per customer; starting a second trial for the same app does not reset the clock.

3. What you are buying

A Pro plan is a twelve-month subscription to a digital service, paid in one instalment at the start — EUR 19.99 per year for a single-app plan at the time of writing. It is not a one-off file you download; it is access to features that keep running and keep being improved for a year.

Access begins as soon as the trial starts, which matters for the right of withdrawal described in section 5.

4. Cancelling a subscription

You can cancel at any time, with no reason to give and no fee, from the billing page of your account, from the link at the bottom of any receipt, or by writing to us at support@addly.app.

Cancelling stops the automatic renewal. The Pro features you already paid for stay available until the last day of the paid period, and the app then returns to its free plan — nothing you created is deleted or locked away.

Cancelling on its own does not refund the current year. A refund of the current year falls under section 5 or section 7.

5. The 14-day right of withdrawal, and how it works here

If you are a consumer in the European Union, articles L. 221-18 and following of the French Consumer Code give you 14 days from the conclusion of the contract to withdraw from a service bought at a distance, with no reason to give.

For a digital service, the law lets that right end early in one specific case: if you expressly asked for the service to start before the 14 days are over, and acknowledged that you would lose the right of withdrawal once it had been fully performed. A subscription like ours runs for a year, so it is never fully performed within 14 days — which means your right of withdrawal survives the start of your trial and of your paid year.

We make this simple: withdraw within 14 days of the first payment and we refund that payment in full, without deducting anything for the days you used. Pro access ends when the refund is issued.

You can withdraw by writing a plain message to support@addly.app — the statutory model form is accepted but not required. We confirm in writing, refund to the original payment method, and the money normally lands within 14 days, often in two or three.

6. Renewals

A subscription renews once a year for another twelve months at the then-current price. We email a reminder at least 14 days before, with the date, the amount and a one-click cancellation link.

The right of withdrawal applies to the conclusion of a contract, not to the automatic renewal of one you already have, so it does not restart each year. We nevertheless refund a renewal in full, no questions asked, if you tell us within 14 days of the charge that you did not mean to renew and have not used a Pro feature since. That is a commercial policy, not a legal obligation, and it covers the case everyone hates: a renewal you forgot about.

7. Refunds beyond the deadlines

After the windows above we do not refund the unused part of a year as a matter of course — you kept the access you paid for. We do refund, in full or pro rata, in these cases:

  • a duplicate or unauthorized charge;
  • a payment taken after you cancelled;
  • a documented Pro feature that stopped working and that we could not repair within 30 days, including when a Canva platform change caused it;
  • a major outage that made the paid features unusable for more than 72 consecutive hours;
  • an app withdrawn from the Canva Marketplace, or an account we closed without cause;
  • a billing error on our side, whichever direction it goes.

Whenever we are at fault, the refund comes without you having to argue for it, and the legal guarantee of conformity owed to consumers applies in full on top of this policy.

8. How to ask for a refund

Open the support chat on this site, or write to support@addly.app from the address on the account, with the invoice number or the date of the charge and one line about what happened.

We answer within one business day and settle a clear case the same day. The refund goes back to the original payment method — we cannot send it anywhere else — and arrives in two to ten days depending on your bank. You receive a credit note by email.

9. Chargebacks

Please talk to us before asking your bank to reverse a payment: a chargeback costs us a fee, freezes the account while the dispute runs, and takes weeks, where an email usually takes a day.

If you have already filed one, tell us and we will provide whatever the bank asks for. An account with an unresolved chargeback stays suspended until the dispute closes.

10. Price changes

If we raise the price, the new one applies only to a renewal happening at least 30 days after we tell you, and the message always says what the old price was and what the new one is. You can cancel instead of accepting it, right up to the renewal date.

11. If you paid someone other than us

This policy covers purchases made from this site, charged by ACCENSEO through Stripe. Check your receipt: if the charge came from Canva, from Apple or from Google, their refund rules apply and we cannot refund it, however much we would like to.

addly is independent from Canva, and Canva is a trademark of Canva Pty Ltd. We have no access to Canva's billing records and cannot act on them; Canva's help center handles those requests.

12. If we cannot agree

Come back to us once with everything you think we got wrong — most disputes end there. If that fails, a consumer may refer the matter free of charge to a mediator of consumer disputes or use the European Union's online dispute resolution platform; we name the competent mediator in our reply to a formal complaint. French law governs, and a consumer may always bring a claim in the courts of their own country of residence.
